Intra BSS Traffic was created by codiac
You all must be sick of me asking questions by now
Got another one for you...............
Is there any way of blocking intra-bss traffic on IPCOP (1.4.11).
What I am trying to achieve is allow internet access but block any kind of connection between the connected clients (stopping lan games, file sharing etc)
Thanks
J

Traffic between clients on the same subnet cannot (by definition) be policed by the IPCOP as the gateway plays no part in such communications.
If you're talking wired clients then the switch handles it, and if wireless, the Wireless Access Point sorts it out. Therefore the technology will need to be in either the Switch or WAP.

Thanks DaLight
Not really thinking straight am I!
Im used to wireless clients connecting to AP's and basically ticking the "disable intra-bss traffic" in the AP config.
No worries, will just have to use a manages switch.
Thanks again my friend, Im going to have to see about getting a Vigor 3300v out for you to play with
