IPCOP with router was created by Lindows
hey guys,
I was a standard Linksys wireless g router, and i want to setup an ipcop box before the router to filter out intruders.
When i configure the router, do i have to enable the dchp from the ipcop box, use my router for that task.
thanks,
lindows

If you router is inside your IPCOP i.e. connected to the GREEN interface, turn off DHCP on the IPCOP and enable it on your router.

ok so your saying don't enable the dhcp option on your ipcop box, set the ip address to static instead and assign the ipcop box given by my ISP. example 255.35.343.23 Then after i reboot the box, use my linksys router to enable the dhcp so i can share my connection.

I was only addressing your IPCOP's role as a DHCP server rather than as a DHCP client. You are however right in your comment about assigning it a static address on the RED interface. I just want to note that the DHCP server and client roles are independent of each other.
