There isn't actually a VMware "version" of IPCOP. It's just that different (helpful) people have created IPCOP VMware images and made them available for download.
If you've actually setup IPCOP yourself on a real machine and you've got access to VMware, it should be pretty straightforward. However, if you prefer to download a "ready-made" image and you trust its source, then that's fine as well.
.. what does it bridged and NAt mean?
In the VMware context, they are defined as follows:
Bridged: A bridged NIC shares the same ethernet connection as the Host PC's NIC, however it has different IP and MAC addresses and can connect directly with the outside world. Thus it appears as a totally separate machine on your "real" network.
NAT: The virtual NIC shares the IP address of the Host PC's NIC by obtaining an IP address from an internal DHCP server.
Now if you can log in to the machine, it must be working. Do you want to use it with "real" machines or with other virtual machines?
