I am now able to connect my vpn client to our firewall (pix 506e) at the office. but that is all. i am connected, but i can't see anything on our network in "my network places". thus i can't map a drive within the network. it didn't prompt me for a windows logon...

any suggestions?

Sounds like you have a link but can't route across it. Check you don't have the same IP network in use at both ends of the link and that you have the appropriate routing entries in place. You can do some basic checks by seeing if you can ping over the link and checking what you've got at the client end with ipconfig /all and route print

Most firewalls you have to allow netbios traffic to see things in my network places.

Also ping across to the other network/office to a PC you know the ip to. If it pings back then add network drive with ip (or enable netbios traffic over vpn) \\X.X.X.X\(share name\ this way you dont need the computer name just the ip.

Im assuming your setting up a network drive to a server that the ip is static....
