Re vlans

Hi

I have deployed a 4507R switch as core and vtp server switch which consists of 25 vlans

We also have 2950 switches connected to the 4507R over the trunk port and the vlan is spanned across floors in a building (static vlans)

The problem I am facing is I can telnet to the 4507 R switch bit cant to the 2950 even after giving the ip address to the vlan 1 , I have also included a route on the pix stating ( route inside 192.168.250.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.250.1) 250.1 is the 4507 vlan1 ip address , But the strange thing is I can telnet from 4507 to any of the 2950 , But me being in vlan 10 ( ie the management vlan ) I cant access the 2950 from my PC .

When a user changes his position I need to telnet first to the 4507 and then the 2950

can anybody can throw light on the same

Okay so your PC is in vlan 10 and you set the management vlan to be vlan 1 on your 2950? Is vlan 1 on the 2950 also the native vlan? If so it won't tag the frames when it crosses the trunk to your 4507 and you won't be able to route packets from vlan 10 to vlan 1 or vice versa. You need to set the IP address on your switch on a port that is not located in VLAN1 (or whatever is the native VLAN). If that doesn't help you might want to enable logging on your PIX and see if it is dropping packets. And this is probably a dumb question but can any of your other VLANs talk to each other? Always good to know if the problem is the routing or the PIX's fault.
