I need a good router simulator/switch simulator (3640,set based switch).I want it free.

But to answer your question, if you are enrolled in cisco academy, talk to your instructor to recieve a copy of packet tracer which is a great little sim, but the only problem is that it only supports RIP v1 and 2 for routing protocols... but its free only if you are in the cisco academy. Most of the high quality sims out there are not free and can be quite expensive. I do not know of any free router sims that meet your criteria, but perhaps some other users do... :roll:
