Have you ensured you have configured the clients to use a dynamically assigned IP address.

Have you checked that your routers are acting as DHCP-relay-agents?

Worst case scenario.. sniff

There is no connection in DHCP, it works over UDP

hey chandak , it would be helpful if you describe your network setup , basically the connectivity between your server and the client which is not receivinf the address...There could be lots of reasons.

1) Is there connectivity between the 2 machines ?? check it out..

2) Is the client correctly configured to receiver addresses ??

3) Is the server configured to assign addresses ??

4) is there a router present between the 2 ??

Hi,It seems the clients is not communicating with the server, when i try tp ping the server ip i get the destination unreachable. What im tyring to do is to share the internet on a couple of computers. The clients seem to obtain ip addresses that are npt part of the scope.I setup dhcp using these instructions www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutor...indows_2003.html.But still can not the clients to see the server. Is thgere anything thats missing on these instructions?Have set the clients to obtain an ip address automatically.
