I have searched the internet for hours and spent hours trialing the following but can't find an answer to my problem. Perhaps somebody here can help.
I am after a step by step or walkthrough of how to set up a dual router/firewall LAN with a DMZ for a webserver. I have found many articles on this but not how to set one up. This is my scenario
WAN in is 81.5.xxx.xxx
Router(netgear) 192.168.0.1:255.255.255.0 DHCP running. I presume I have my DMZ here on a private IP (192.168.0.X) ( i have read also to use WAN IP here??)
Router 2(Draytek) has DHCP off and is plugged into a LAN port (not WAN) from R1 with LAN IP given from R1.
I have an SQL server that I would place in my private LAN area and this needs to access the DMZ so I would need to open port 1443 or whatever on the R2 firewall (and shut down most others)
Is this correct and most important at least moderately secure! If not can somebody point me in right direction pls.
