I was wondering if it would be possible to integrate a commercial grade switch gear with my home network, if possible the location that i would place the switch, such as between my modem and router, or router and computers, etc. I currently have Saw Cable internet, a modem connected to a dlink router which has 4 ports on the back which is enough thanks to wireless but i would like to make it possible to have more than 4 wired connections.
I know a commercial grade switch is completely over kill!! i'm currently going to school for networking computer/systems. we have been working with the commercial grade switches and i am liking the control that is offered with them.
