HSRP vs VRRP

HSRP vs VRRP was created by RA1313IT
I am going to to setup two routers using HSRP or VRRP to achieve redundancy and load balancing. I have two Cisco routers I am going to use, and will implement two groups for the load balancing.
I understand that HSRP is Cisco Proprietary, but other than that I don't see a whole lot of difference between the two. The config is almost identical as well.
Can anyone recommend one over the other? Does one have better features perhaps than the other or are they really much the same?
Thanks!

If I remember right there are some minor differences but basically they both do the same. I think one of the differences is to do with the way the failover works, whether each router has its own IP address then the floating address is a third address or whether the floating address is the interface address of the primary router and the standby just siezes it. There might be a difference around the MAC addresses used in the failover also. I wish I could be more specific but it was gaes ago and I can't remember...
