Dear all i am so happy this will be my last post for the year 2008. oh Gosh i am happy. Happy new year to u all.
I am having a problem opening .net file(s) for topologies i have worked on and saved. once i finish working on a topology with like c3700 routers and i save, it saves quite well the .net file but once i try opening it, it does not. it says something about server........ i use dynamips rc2...... the latest one.
Please how can i open the .net file or how can i solve the problem...
See u in 2009. Love lots to all IT pros.

I don't recall having the same problem before.
Are you using the GNS3/Dynamips/Dynagen bundled version (single installer)?. I recommend you try it (latest version 0.6). I'd try uninstalling every thing first and installing this one again.
p.s. First reply since last year!!. Never knew the forums so dead.
pathetic joke

Hey S0lo i run GNS3 on Linux (Ubuntu Distro) i installed it via synaptic.
When i checked some post i read similar problems. all that was require of me was to export start-up config before saving.. the problem has been sorted out but there's till another one
Recently a team mate here posted something on networking......... on his personal site (i guess). he put up some static/dynamic routing labs there i mean GNS3 .net lab topologies but when i try to open it says can't find output; it may have crashed. that's what it says. then i go through the error logs and i see some c:/.... blah blah blah all the windows nonsense (pardon me windows lover<s> this is 2009) well from that i understood the whole lab was created in windows.. can't really understand why it wont load. i hope u get the jerk of my new problem...
Cheers
Happy new year Once more.

I think I know the lab files and the fella your talking about. Try opening the .net file in a text editor. Replace all occurrences of windows paths, such as: "C:\Program Files\GNS3\Projects\EIGRP\EIGRP GNS3 Preconfigured Lab\EIGRP Preconfigured Lab_configs\Sales_2.cfg" with the correct corresponding path you have in linux. For example: "/home/EIGRP GNS3 Preconfigured Lab/EIGRP Preconfigured Lab_configs/Sales_2.cfg"
I hope this is clear. What I mean is that all referenced files in .net file should be found, or GNS3 will obviously give errors.
