network connectivity problem

problem: 5 sysem network hangs

I have a five system network including a server 2003 running peachtree service only.
the problem is that sometime the server hangs until i disable and enable the LAN icon before it picks up. this mostly happens when other peachtree clients are sending data to the 2003 server. kind of a network connectivity problem I guess

Could you elaborate on the issue with the details about your network equipment like what switch do you use and how do you configure them ?

8 port dlink switch
cat 5 e cable

Are you able to ping the server when other clients are sending data to the server .
