Monitoring Cisco equipement was created by dentifrice
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a monitoring system for Cisco switches and some routers.
Which program do yo recommand ? Can be from Cisco or 3rd parties...
I need something "professional" with detailed status
Can CiscoWorks do that ?
thanks!

Cisco Works will do what you want and probably more, but you'll pay a professional price for it. The other think is that it's the most convoluted piece of software (actually it's several bits of software crammed together and sold as if it were one) that I've ever worked with.
I'd recommend you list out the facilities you actually need/want then evaluate possible purchases against that. You'll get best value for your money that way

thanks for the reply
In fact, I need something with a lot of information. Uptime, ports status, which ports are set in VLAN X.
So it's not just about monitoring but managing and viewing config of equipement. Like a central management console.
thanks
