please help to design network

pls i like to desgin a network with VLsm and routing protocols .......network address is 192.168.1.0 ...for 4 departments.......
54.host machines
8...host macnhines
59 host machines
17.hosts.
I like to use routers and switches to build the network ..and i have been asked to design an internetwork for a medium sized company......cisco hardware......
my question is how many siwtches and routers can be used.....the types ?........i was asked to design basic network without using vlan........but i need to use dynamic routing protocols rip,ospf,eigrp .to design it and also use VLsm techniques .in this cases routers is very important to use

Hmm - that sounds like an assignment question!

First, it's a class C address and I assume with a 255.255.255.0 mask. Have a think about the number of hosts required on each subnet and decide which to use with the least number of host addresses wasted. The number of usable hosts available on the various subnets would be 2, 6, 14, 30, 62, 126.

How do u design ur project? Is it u using packet tracer? If not i can help u to upload for u.

Just take the biggest subnet and from there break it down

192.168.1.0 /26 (192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.63) (59 hosts)
192.168.1.64 /26 (192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.127) (54 hosts)
192.168.1.128 /27 (192.168.1.128 - 192.168.1.159) (17 hosts)
192.168.1.160 /28 (192.168.1.160 - 192.168.1.175) (8 hosts)

You can manage with 1 router (maye a Cisco 2811 or sthing) and 2960G switches.

The Switches would have a VLAN for the subnets.

So
a VLAN for 192.168.1.0/26
a VLAN for 192.168.1.64 /26
a VLAN for 192.168.1.128 /27
a VLAN for 192.168.1.160 /28

Do you need a router ? If using VLAN's would it not be worth using InterVLAN Routing within the Switch (Layer 3 switch) ? You would then get the speed of the Switch BackPlane instead of sending traffic to a router and then possibly back up to the switch through a VLAN Trunk
