Access via SSH from pUtty

Guys,

I havea question, but i am not looking for an answer now but atleast show me the correct direction.
I am working as an offshore network support engg.My onsite has many networking devices (switches, firewalls, routers).We access them thru putty via SSH, but some switches do not support them, so we access via telnet.
But my onsite wanna get all of them to be accessible via SSH.We are planning to upgrade the IOS of those switches which do not support ssh.
Is there any other way we can access them thru SSH without making the IOS upgrade or is it mandatory
If this is the only option, we already dug up the required IOS versions for the switches for different series(2960,3560xl,2950 etc)
which support SSH.
So i am looking if this is correct. If yes where can i get the IOS images to upload for the swicthes.??
If no what other option do i have.
Any other info required,please feel free to ask me , i know i am giving you guys a rough idea only.

You can use the brilliant (and free) SSLExplorer ( www.sshtools.com/showSslExplorer.do ). It will allow you to create an SSL encrypted tunnel through which you can tunnel any protocols (i.e. telnet). You will of course need an onsite server to run SSLExplorer.

In order for you to download the images you have to have a Cisco account and log onto there web page to download them.

how the SSL is implemented ?Can it be installed on a exiting server or it needs a dedicated server?
what are the steps for it to be enabled ,please can you ppeople help me on this.
BTW, how to create an account in cisco for the IOS images for switches.
