Direct E1 VS Serial/V.35 Connection was created by derk
Good day everyone!!
I would like to present our network setup first before asking questions.
We have 2 connections to the same location - one is E1 frame relay extended using G.703 thru Tellabs modem converted to V.35 (approx 180 m line distance) and one is direct E1 using VWIC 1MFT-G703 Cisco interface (same 180 m interface distance).
From my personal experience, the first one is extended to compensate for the G.703 distance limitation of 100m. Based on experience, the second one would be severely attenuated as it was directly connected to the router interface from a transmission room 185m away.
Please, anyone who can tell me a much detailed analysis on this one would be very much appreciated.
