ccna Lab 9.3.4 troubleshooting using traceroute ? ? ? ? was created by Damien610
When working on this lab you are asked to use one of the end routers to traceroute
to the other end host.
A traceroute from the GAD router (router 1) to the end host attached to the PHX (router 3) was entered
GAD#traceroute 192.168.17.2
This command acknowledged BHM and PHX routers but then timed out......
I entered the same command from the host attached to GAD (through the cmd prompt)
tracert 192.168.17.2
this acknowledged the GAD, BHM, PHX routers and the 192.168.17.2 end host.
Why does this not work from a router ?
The route has been proved by the traceroute from the end host attached to GAD.
Does a traceroute from a router only trace routers ?
to the other end host.
