The most important thing here is to make sure your workstations can support Wake On LAN. This depends on the network cards used and on the BIOS. The best way is to do some tests using just one workstation. Once you've got that working it is easy enough to roll it out to the whole population using a script. As to software, again it depends on your LAN cards really. Do a google search for Wake On LAN Software and download a few - most are free. Then try them to find one that works reliably with your hardware. Try the stuff at www.depicus.com for starters - you get a couple of GUI apps for easy testing or ad-hoc working and command-line equivalents for easy scripting. They all work fine on my network.
