File too large for TFTP protocol was created by cjsmith22
hi - i'm trying to tftp a new ios i've been sent over onto a 2811 router - the ios is 35mb and the tftp server i've used in the past (solarwinds) now says File too large for TFTP protocol - does TFTP not like files over a certain size?

It wasn't something i knew but apparently the original implementation does have a limit of 32Mb.

I ran across this issue before. Updating the Boot image may help, as that message is being generated by the router, not the tftp server.
Didn't in my case, so I used FTP instead. If you want to take the time to setup ssh, you can use scp as well.

Apologies - If I had any sense I'd have realised that it said 'File too large for TFTP protocol' for a reason ! which FTP server do you use?
