SHARING A PRINTER???

Im having issues sharing a printer between an XP workstation and another running WIN 2000 proffesional.Firewall is disabled in XP but still not able to connect the win 2000 w/s to print on the samsung 1610 printer on the XP w/s.

Under 'Properties' for your network connection on the XP machine make sure you have 'File and Printer Sharing' enabled. Also make sure the printer is shared and that everyone has permission to access it. Also you don't say how the machines are set up, but assuming they are workgroup machines it will make it easier to have them in the same workgroup
If you like, you can leave the XP firewall enabled as long as you allow File and Printer Sharing as an Exception in the firewall configuration

both machiunes belong to the same domain.Thanks for your help.

hey dude as side kick said the systems have to be on the same domain let me cite an example for u ... if ur workgroup is firewall let all the systems workgroup be same as the others (workgroup).

Try to make this changes and u will get the best results and u will be able to share ur printer easily.
