You will need to ensure that both LANS being connected by the VPN are on different subnets or packets will not route between them.

What is really strange is that there will be a client address assigned and that shows up on the router of the vpn server but the server cannot ping that address even though its router has assigned it and it shows up as a leased address

Just to clarify things, are you trying a (client to VPN) or (net to net VPN) setup?

Yes that is strange. Along with dalight's question, do you see the correct IP address and gateway implemented on the client as well when the tunnel is established?

Its Client To VPn Server but i do think its the fact that we are on the same subnet cuz what if i have addresses being used that are his address's it wouldnt know what to do
