HDSL transmitting 2mbps having distance of 8km from exchange

hello guys!
i have to design a network in which customer needs to have 2.048 Mbps (HDSL ) PRIs so tht data and voice traffic from customer end (which is 8Km away from the nearest exchange) can be transmitted to exchange. Now wht i've researched is tht as the distance increases from the exchange data trhoughput provided by pair of HDSLs decreases.I've seen some Pandatel HDSLs providing 2mbps upto maximum of 4KM distance without having
to put a repeater in between. And as the distance increases for example upto 8km distance data throughput tht can b transmitted through hdsls reduces to 256Kbps or 512 Kbps max in some cases.
Now i need 2Mbps (PRI) data to be transmitted through pair of HDSLs upto 8 Km away from exchange end.Can anyone suggest right HDSl model and make which can fullfill this requirement?Vendor and model info will be highly appreciated .Is it possible to achieve this kinda throughput with such a distance?
?and Remember media used is copper not fiber.
Thnx
Taqqi

Hmmmmmm tough one.
Had to ask an old guy in the corner . For 8km 2.048mb/s using HDSL you would need 0.8mm copper installed to prevent the need for regenerators...
Realistically this almost never rolled our over these distances as very few Telcos use 0.8mmm copper - normally it's 0.4mm or 0.5mm.
try a search on ACL2 (exchange end card) and DNT2M (customer modem. Both made by Nokia, and th only ones 've seen that could manage this...but any that meet the HDSL standard should in theory.

Hi Taqqi,
You will not find the specs for the DNT2M on the web that tell you this as it is only included in the product documentation which is only supplied if you buy it.
If you check out the HDSL specs ..(sorry haven't a link yet).. then these should confirm that any fully compliant product will achieve 8km provided the copper is the correct quality.
