I AM RUNNING A DHCP SERVER WHICH OTHER CLIENTS CONNECT TO IT TO GAIN INTERNET CONNECTION. BUT ALL MY SYSTEMS WERE ASSIGNED IP ADDRESSES AUTOMATICALLY.... BUT THERE IS THIS PARTICULAR SYSTEM THAT HAS REFUSED TO CONNECT I HAVE SHUT DOWN FIREWALL BUT IT STILL HAS NOT CONNECTED....... WHAT DO I DO..... OR COULD IT BE THE NETWORK CARD.... COS ON MY OTHER SYSTEMS WHEN I FINISHED INSTALLING OS (XP SP1) IT STARTED BROWSING AUTOMATICALLY..........
WHAT DO I DO....
THANKS

Picking pebbles on the shore of the networking ocean
please dont repeat your question in different forums. you have already been asked to check the IP address this machine has when it does not connect. check the health of the network card as well.
this is your correct forum. the one in basic concepts is a bit misplaced

windows is not a reliable network operating system for server, and dhcp is is highly unreliable . if you are using 10-15 systems or less, you can configure a linux box as a gateway and assign ip address statically on the clients.

make sure that the TCP/IP Stack / Loopback by pinging 127.0.0.1 if its works then no problem in your NIC Card. If any problem on this then try to reinstall the N/W Card Driver and make sure that Obtain IP address Automatically and Obtain DNS IP automatically .
Also chk that the DHCP servers are having enough IP address in its pool to lease.
Now chk client machine whether its getting IP r not.
Hope it will help you.
