Dynamic VLAN's and VMPS

Dynamic VLAN's and VMPS was created by AbeFroman
We are looking to move past our aging Catalyst network and into IOS-based switches (actually, we have a ton of IOS-based switches and DVLANing is just not been considered). One of the main obstacles is how do we convert our legacy VMPS solution into something more modern.
Does Cisco make some sort of appliance?
All the VMPS solutions are based on CatOS infrastructure
Any links or help would be appreciated
Cheers

I just happened to come across this line in a cat4500 configuration guide related to Vlans, VTP, and VMPS (for IOS version 12.2.25(SG):
A Catalyst 4500 series switch running Cisco IOS software does not support the functionality of a VMPS. It can only function as a VLAN Query Protocol (VQP) client, which communicates with a VMPS through the VQP. For VMPS functionality, you need to use a Catalyst 4500 series switch (or Catalyst 6500 series switch) running Catalyst operating system (OS) software.
