2 networks and 3 routers do i got it right ? was created by Brandonh
I have dsl internet with 3 dsl/cable routers and im wanting to create two networks but allow them to comunicate between the two and provide them each internet access. Im thinking of making the first router 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0 and the second and third routers will recieve dhcp and internet from the first router. Now im thinking if i make the second and third routers wan IP's 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3 both 255.255.255.0 then make Lan IP's 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1 with 255.255.0.0 then make the clients on the two networks 192.168.2.2-100 and 192.168.3.2-100 with 255.255.255.0. the only thing i worry about is that if the router's lan side Ip has a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 it will try and send packets to 192.168.1.1 without going through its 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.1.3 gateway. Does anyone have any ideas
