Cisco c1751 to c831 VPN

Hello !

I wanted to ask You if it's possible to make vpn connection between Cisco router model C1751 on one side and on the other side router C831.

If the answer is Yes could You also point me to some configuration guides and examples.

You can configure IOS VPN on Cisco Router with C1751 and C831, the only thing is you got to have advsecurity-k9 IOS for you C1751 Router.

Cisco have lots of configuration example in their website, below is one of them, let us know if you need more info.

I just have to check it in reality.

How do I check if my c1751 got advsecurity-k9 IOS ?
I know that it uses IOS ver. 12.2(15)T9.

Ok Now I know my c1751 doesn't support crypto i need to obtain software with advanced security options.

Now when I have the image I have put it on the router.
I've also configured both routers like in the example from cisco but something is wrong ...

I've received an error message on one of the routers:

"Processing of Informational mode failed with peer at <ip address of the second router>"

any idea what does it mean and what might be possible couse of it ?

How do you configure the connection, in the lab ? did you configure the WAN ip 100.1.1.1 & 200.1.1.1 as in the example with the cross cable.

It will not work as they are in the different subnet unless you have two Public ip came from the ISP, post your Router config so that we can see what is the actual problem.
