i got problem with my 2600 router,it happen just yesterday when i was about to check the configuration, when i turn on the hyper term only garbage appear on the screen just like ascii codes i tried
to change the baud rate nothing happens

Still thinking it is baud rate, hey men, it happens me all time, and to fix it will take lot time, and lot of tries.
so frist try with very low speeds, if it dont works, try the next one, and the nex one, and the next one, finally in one speed it must answer.

ASCII characters usually mean you've got a problem with your serial port speed.
If you set your com port settings to the following, you should be okay:
Baud rate: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: none
Stop bits: 1
No Flow Control ( DTR/DSR, RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF).
