I think you can really help me, my company would like to provide only the internet service then outsource local loop from a telco. so please, as you are in the field just tell me the types of service that your compy use to offer, and their equipment.a sample of the network design.
My company plans to service small businesses, offices, and cyper cafes, so from that tell me the type of techno, wireless LAN or what.

I USED to work at a ISP, now I work at the client side jeje.
but I remember few techinical tips, about what sort of equipment you can use, either adsl (atm), frame relay , wll (wireless local loop), also satelital access.

Ok, I will try to epxplain the most importants tips, but beleve me to setup an ISP (small, medium, large), it demands a lot of planning, and hands in the job.

in the topology, imagine the typical hub and spoke toplogy, where you got the internet access to the regional internet (two is recommended for redundancy) and also for the class of service offered to many clients, it depends in the level of redundancy you have I sugges you use OSPF as your IGP within your AS and BGP between your both regional ISPS.

You as a Local ISP must act as the hub in the hub and spoke topology where you clients, act as a spoke, and talking about routing static routes are a MUST.

as you lease the leased line services of a teleco company, frame relay or atm are the most economic solution in the central ISP site, and because they must give you as a client a complete layer 2 path between the ISP and a client you must be responsible only for layer 3 config, and setup.

the layer 3 hardware used depends in the bandwidth and the number of clients you have I think you can starts with a 3800 router, or 2600 if you have those old ones.

I suggest you try to use intiative in the project, if you dont have experience, try to contact a a local cisco partner, they can help you a lot with the desing and offer you the best equipment according to your needs.

luck with the project.
