Hi folks,

There's this really annoying issue with the DSL 502T router. This is similar to the issue posted by phyris way back in 2004 but the steps mentioned does not provide a solution to my problem.

I was able to connect to the internet fine on my win 98SE computer. Just 1 computer connected directly to the router using a USB cable. I recently formatted the computer. I tried to install the USB driver but the CD given with the router does not seem to have the correct driver. The computer does detect the new hardware but is not able to find the proper driver.

I have contacted DLink and also my ISP but in vain. I have also downloaded the drivers from the DLink website but that too did not work. But the driver in the CD does work for Win XP.

I am at my wits end trying to locate the proper driver for Win 98 SE.

Following are the steps recommended by both DLink and my ISP:
1. The router should be disconnected from the computer.
2. Run setup from the drivers folder in the cd.
3. After setup is complete turn off the computer.
4. Connect the router to the computer and then restart the computer.
5. A window comes up showing a new hardware is detected.

After this point the driver should be automatically taken by the computer and the router should be ready for use and the Network adapter in Device Manager will show an icon for DLink USB remote NDIS Network device.

But this does not happen. What comes up is a window that asks you to browse and find a suitable driver. And of course it does not accept the driver in the CD at this stage also.

Please help.

Thanx to all in advance.

Nitin.

Try www.driverguide.com , they have a lot of stuff on there and links to other sites.
You'll need to create an account and although it's free I'd use a separate email address as you'll have to sign up to offers etc
