remove pc from VLAN

After i assigned a pc to VLAN, I found some problem, so I planed to reconfigur the pc with original static IP.

I set the IP, Gateway and subnetmask exactly and I also remove the port from VLAN, but i found the network is unavailable for the pc.

what' going on?

You don't mention what make or model of switch you are using, but it is possible that you now have the port in no VLAN at all which would explain your problem. Try adding the port into your default VLAN and see if that helps

my switch is 3com SS3 4200.
You are right and i just test a new port, when i remove the port from my VLAN, it would not assign it automaticlly to the default VLAN.

That's interesting. I've got a switch in that series as well and I would have assumed that ports would always be assigned to the default VLAN after removal from other VLANs. Must make a note ...
