need help... was created by samuraiX
greetings earthlings...
i recently was introduced into the world of html and php.
after days of rigourous researches and thinking i was able to create my own website, www.ghost-fighter.com
however, for the past 4 days i've been having a problem connecting to my own website!?
the browser alwasys return with a 504 gateway time-out.
i would gladly ping my site myself but the company computer i am using won't allow me to because i dont have an administrator account for the said work station.
will somebody help me out, please!
i implore you with all your kindness to have mercy on me...and ping my website and then post the results as your reply to my posting so i can assure myself that ghost-fighter.com is still intact, up and running or the webserver/host that i used for ghost-fighter is just trying to be so perky on me...thanks...

The webserver is unreachable because of a DNS problem -the authorative nameservers NS1.JILP.COM and NS1.JILP.COM are unreachable too-.
I suggest you contact the company that handles your DNS.

also, for future troubleshooting, assuming they allow you to http out, you can use sites such as
www.dnsstuff.com
to perform pings and traceroutes, etc.. from the outside world (i.e. where it won't be blocked by your company).

Thank You for your reply.
However, i want to know what exactly is the meaning of the following words...
Gateway Timeout
[code=DNS_TIMEOUT] A DNS lookup error occurred because the request timed out during the lookup.
Also, what causes this?
And how can i Prevent this from happening?
or Am i already too late to save my website?
And in case i am not late, do you think it's still possible to open my website www.ghost-fighter.com in the near future, provided that DNS TIMEOUT will not happen again?
Thank You Very Much.
Please help me out... :!: :

hi,
i tried investigating your problem and found out that your site is being hosted on godaddy.com and a quick verification on www.dnsreport.com showed a failure in your NS records.
you could check the name servers to which your site is hosted as suggested by nske and start your troubleshooting from there.
hope this helps.

A timeout occurred getting the NS records from your nameservers! None of your nameservers responded fast enough. They are probably down or unreachable. I can't continue since your nameservers aren't responding. If you have a Watchguard Firebox, it's due to a bug in their DNS Proxy, which must be disabled.

Hello nske, tiamat and Jhun...
thank you all for checking my site...
is it possible for me to change another Server or Webhoster for my website and still keep the same domain name?
if so, do you think it is also possible for me to extract all of my files from my site ghost-fighter.com and take it to another webhoster, one that will not try to fail me down?
or if not, then i guess i'll just have to make a new one...
tough luck, huh?
i appreciate all of your help...
