I been Tasked to look for a newer better Router of cisco that is .
But i have no Idea about how and where shall i begin ...
i have a Modle # 3845 Cisco router .
THat is Neat , So HOT . but the price is high for the Budget they Provided me with , im looking for a lower Price Router almost same Configs .. so we can replace the 2600 we have .
ANy GuideLines or Help , i really apprciate it .
would like to see the makers of fw.cx replyin , as i think its an important Topic .
I know how to Install n configure many of cisco Products includin Pix fw , routers n catalysts switches , BUT ! , i have no idea how to choose what i want .

Since you want the features of a 3800 router, but can't afford it in your budget, I would suggest looking at the 2800 line of routers. It would be an upgrade from the 2600.

Nice thinking Jeremy, but I would research that before purchasing. In the academy, we use 2500's and 1700's. The 1700's are so much better than the 2500's. We call the 2500's "Shamu." Research the speed and power of the 2800's before you get the sucker. Just a suggestion.

Jwj's suggestion is a good one. I'd also ask that you provide us with more information on what exactly you want to do with this new router. What's its purpose and future services it might offer?
This will help us guide you toward a good alternative for the 3800 series.
