Estimating Link Size

We've been asked to quote a customer for a full off site disaster recovery building with a link from the main site. There will be various traffic across this link:

SNMP and RMON monitoring traffic
Microsoft DS and NetBIOS domain traffic
Server replication traffic
Databse replication traffic
Ad-hoc maintenance (a few mapped drives, telnet sessions etc)

I've made a stab at sizing the link by monitoring the current network and estimating traffic levels from that. Does anybody have a better method for generating such an estimate?

Dont forget future growth of traffic utilisation over the link. Also the option to turn on/provision extra bandwidth quickly as and when required. As this this may have a say in the type of connectivity you buy into.
