Do you get a screen saying that you'll be restarted in like 30 or 60 seconds? or does it just restarts? or does it suddenly turns off like it loosed power?

I had posted almost thesame problem not long ago. It will prompt" Preparing to standby" after loggin in, then it will restart, and repeat the cycle. But seems work fine when its in safe mode.

I've tried all the suggestions I've read from this forum and other sources, until I gave up and pointing virus as the possible culprit or simply a windows bug.

When i press f8 and select last know configuration, then it starts working fine

if it is fine, then check eventvwr for any errors or warnings, also do a full AV scan.
Aslo scan disk and difrag may help you.

No popup messages is showing, one time it shows fraction of a second it disappeared, then the same recycling restart starts.

Following thing are done :

1. XP Repaired.

2. Virus Scan Done.

3. Works normally on LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION.

4. i read one website saying that it has been attacked by virus called Password.

Any kind of help is highly appreciable.

Try this,

After you login with "LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION". Immediately shutdown the PC (Not power off, do a full shutdown). This should save the LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION as the current configuration.

Start the PC normally now, see if it comes back.
