Nope don't think theres any way to do that at all.. the closest you could get would be to add a static arp entry for a MAC address pointing to the new IP address...
a question
why in gods name do you want to do this from DOS ???!!?!?!?!?! Remember.. DOS natively doesn't even have a TCP/IP stack.. it just borrows Windows'....
furthermore, changing the IP address of a remote system would be sorta counter-productive.. because you'd get disconnected from it...
imagine
telnet 192.168.1.10
c:\>changeip 192.168.1.20
<connection to host lost>
You'd be cutting off the branch that you're sitting on.
What exactly do you need to do, because I'm sure there's a less complicated way of working this out.

Barbarali:
Like Sahrih stated Dos does not have this feature, TCP/IP was introduced with Windows 3.1 Workstation, the only command that can be ran (that I’m aware of) is Renew, this is only for DHCP.
More info: www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/using/p...tdoc/en/ipconfig.asp
Now if your trying to change TCP/IP from a DOS prompt or Command Line from within Windows try the “netsh” command. For further information on this command try these links from Microsoft. Please keep in mind this command is only for Windows 2K and above.
