Hi,
What is the easiest way to create a mail server? I've seen software like kerio and others, I would have loved to create one in linux but my linux at the moment is not too good,I wouldnt wanna use ms exchange coz i can not afford it,. this will be my first mail server.Could you please advise and point me into the right direction.

Windows 2003 server offers a built in pop3 and smtp server.

What does Exchange Server provide that Windows Server 2003's built in POP3 and SMTP server don't? In other words, what's so great about Exchange?

"Easy" active directory integration. Calibration i.e. calender shares, folder shares, a slick web interface.
Are you looking at a mail server for production or experimentation?
