I tried loading Ubuntu Linux 10.2 from a cd i made of the IOS

but when i got to the load screen and i saw the fancy Ubuntu logo i received an error when i was trying to install it

listed here is what it showed

Disk error 80 Ax = 4200, drive 9F

Anyone know what this problem is or how to fix it?

Did i just burn the disk or not completely copy a file or was ubuntu corrupted when i downloaded it.

I don't know what the message means, but it's certainly possible that it relates to a problem either reading from the CD or accessing the hard drive in your machine. I'd eliminate the CD first; try burning another copy and if that fails try downloading the .iso again from a different download location

tying that right now as we speak im burning a new cd using nero instead of the other software i used and if that does not work ill try downloading it again but it also says that the image is slightly to large for the disk so i had to have nero finalize it for me so that may be the problem right there

You could always burn it to a DVD as long as you make it bootable

im downloading it from here

www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/downloading?rel...amp;download-button=

i think the file is just that much bigger than the cd can hold SUCKS!

maybe ill try a different version know any good ones that are similar to ubuntu?

I was hoping to use this one bc it supposed to be close to windows and easier to install

i was so very close to i just cant get it to the install screen
