Solution for image backups of laptops was created by skepticals
Anyone have a solution for getting a full image backup of laptop users that are never in the office? Other than having them leave their laptop in the office?

Skepticals,
We use Symantec Backupexec System Recovery for workstations. It's a great product and allows restoration on dissimilar hardware. You can have a portable USB hdd plugged on the workstation to ensure the backups are taken as frequently as required.
You can configure when the backup will be taken, how and where, with a few simple steps.
The solution is proven and works!
Cheers,

In our company and for our clients we use Acronis True Image. the great thing about Acronis compared to Symantec Exec is that if you needed a feature later on that is not present in your current Acronis product you can buy the license and activate it or buy the add-on module, I have heard in symantec Exec you would have to buy the other product in the feature list, so it is cheap in cost compared to other competitors.
And yes it has all the features you might think of from a Backup and restore Product. Acronis is a dedicated development company for only Backup and Restore Products. And they are great in it.
good luck,

Thank you for the replies!
We have Acronis - the part I was wondering about is if people used an external hard drive or not.

We tell them to bring them in on a particular day then use ghost to image them onto an external USB hard drive. It's a fairly brainless process, we have a BartPE windows boot CD with ghost and all the requisite drivers on it so it is pretty much plug-and-go. Then once the image is done we copy it onto a server for long term storage and clear the USB disk for the next victim

Do you have the user mess with the BartPE CD, or are you saying you have the users bring the laptop in?
