What is the power(voltage) over ethernet(CSMA/CD) when the media is idle & also when it is transmitting?

From the spec, the nominal voltage and power values are 48V and 13W respectively. I don't think transmission states are going to affect the power usage as much as the power drawn by the "Powered Device". Check out this link for more info.

Do you mean on the actual Ethernet cable Vilasini, or do you mean the power/voltage of the equipment as Dalight has explained?

I meant the actual ethernet cable when the data is travelling & when the media is idle.

Thought so. I have that information in an old Ethernet training course. It'll take me a little while to dig it out
