What is the normal IPCop disk usage?

This is the output of df -h command on IPCop firewall.

I am a newly hired Net Admin and the IPCop firewall was installed and implemented by a previous IT guy who left the company. I haven't had experience on Linux firewall before so before thinking of upgrading, want to know if I need to be alarmed on the disk usage of our firewall?

Your /dev/root seems to be pretty full. Check your "/" folder to see if there are ISOs or other such files stored there. You would normally expect the "/var/log" to be the largest due to all the log files.

Thanks again mate and sorry for the late reply. I found that /home/httpd/html/updatecache/ has a lot of .exe, .zip, .cab. Some are dated 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. File sizes varies from few hundred KB to more than 100MB. Could this be the cache that my users have downloaded from the internet? Can I just rm all of these or there is a procedure to clear this directory?

That directory is not present in my standard IPCOP installation, so it's either been created by an addon or manually by a user. It should be OK to delete the files using "rm".

I think these are the same files you will see when you go to the web gui under Services --> Advance Accelerator, under Current files in local cache.

You must have the "Update Accelerator" addon installed then.
